During the current National Health Emergency, Radio Plus has had to make some major change to how we operate. This includes changes to our Programme Schedule. These changes have been designed to protect all our staff and volunteers, to ensure that we act responsibly and comply with the Government’s advice and that we do our bit to help slow the spread of the Covid -19 virus.
All of our presenters and volunteers are now working from home. Unfortunately this means that we are unable to have two presenters on air together at the same time. As a result, you will notice that this will have an impact on The Radio Plus Breakfast Show, Daytime with Paul & Amy. The Mixtape, The Health & Wellbeing Show, The Urban Cafe, The Football Show and The Radio Plus Rock Show. We’ve made some temporary changes to these programmes and our schedule to tackle this. Each of these shows will now have just one presenter until further notice.
We’ve also launched some new programmes. These include :
The Alternative Anthems Lockdown Sessions – Mon to Thurs 9pm – 12am
Dances Anthems – Fridays 7pm – 9pm
Saturday Breakfast – Saturdays 7am – 10am
Sunday Service – Sunday 10am – 11am
Jess Samba – Sunday 11am – 2pm
Emily Brett – Sunday 4pm – 6pm
The Radio Plus Chillout – Sunday 8pm -10pm
Please see our revised Programme Schedule for further details.
In the run up to Easter, Radio Plus will also feature some special programmes presented by the team from Coventry Cathedral. We hope to provide our listeners with an opportunity to continue to Worship during this period of lock down. These special programmes include a daily Compline Prayer Service, which will be broadcast everyday at 9pm throughout Holy Week, as well as special Good Friday and Easter Sunday services led by the Bishop of Coventry, The Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth. Both of these services will be broadcast at 10am.
I hope that you will continue to enjoy our programmes and that you and your families stay safe and well during this time of unprecedented national crisis. Please remember to follow the advice from the Government.
Stay safe and well.
Simon McAusland Chief Executive
